Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner
Shelley McIvor is a division one registered nurse that holds postgraduate qualifications in wound care and diabetes education. Shelley has completed her Masters of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner at La Trobe University and obtained AHPRA endorsement in Primary Care; and Acute and Supportive Care.
Shelley trained at Dunedin School of Nursing, NZ. She worked in the area of cardiothoracic surgery before moving to Melbourne. Working first at the Alfred Hospital and later at Epworth Richmond she continued in cardiothoracic and in general surgical nursing. Shelley also worked part time in the area of aged care as a Deputy Director of Nursing. In 1997 Shelley took up a position in a Hospital in the Home department managing wounds of mixed aetiology. In 2005 Shelley took the opportunity to join Karen in developing a wound clinic in Parkdale.
In 2011 Shelley joined KCI Medical as a clinical support specialist providing education in wound care and the appropriate application of topical negative pressure.
With her knowledge and experience in wound care and her interest in the diabetic patient Shelley has developed a passionate interest in diabetic foot disease.
Shelley is Co-Director of Bayside Wound Group.
